To get an accurate figure, you will need to subtract the total area (m²) of your doors and windows before using this calculator. Don’t worry, to make this easier, you can follow our guide on how to subtract doors and windows.
This tool calculates using the standard 10mm mortar joint allowance. If you’re using a different size mortar joint, you can use our manual calculation guide.

Unlike other tools, our calculator provides quantities of stretcher and header bricks required for a range of different brick bonds. Simply select the bond you want to use in step 3. Choose from Stretcher, English, Flemish, Header and Monk bonds, as well as English and Flemish Garden Wall variations.
Note: The calculator results assume you will get 1 header cut from a single brick for single skin walls, and 2 headers per brick for double skin walls.
